Yanjie Li, PhD

Biography

Dr. Yanjie Li earned her Master’s degree in TESL from Webster University and her PhD in Education with a focus on Applied Linguistics from Washington University in St. Louis. Her research interests center on foreign language acquisition and pedagogy. She has investigated various factors such as reading strategies, reader interest, working memory, and strategic adjunct questions, and their interactions with foreign language reading comprehension. Dr. Li’s research has provided valuable insights and practical implications for language teaching and learning. 

Dr. Li brings over six years of university-level teaching experience in Chinese language education, covering all levels of instruction. In 2023, she received the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence and the Excellence in Educational Research Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to both teaching and research.
