Steven Jones

Biography
Steven Jones, M.A., is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in American Sign Language at the University of Iowa. A Colorado native and Deaf educator, he brings lived experience and professional training to his teaching, with a focus on Deaf-centered pedagogy, accessibility, and visually grounded learning.
He teaches multiple levels of ASL and is involved in curriculum design and student engagement. His work is influenced by the legacy of the Deaf President Now (DPN) movement and informed by his prior career in information technology. Steven earned a Master of Arts in Teaching American Sign Language from the University of Northern Colorado and is committed to inclusive and equitable ASL education.
