Yi-Chi Yao is a Chinese language educator from Taiwan. She earned her M.A. in Chinese Language Pedagogy from Indiana University Bloomington, where she served as an Associate Instructor for two years and received the Distinguished Service as Instructor award. She was also awarded a Fulbright grant to teach Chinese at New College of Florida from 2019 to 2020. At the University of Iowa, she teaches Second-Year Chinese, Third-Year Chinese, and Chinese Calligraphy and Culture. Her teaching focuses on creating engaging and student-centered learning environments that foster both linguistic proficiency and cultural understanding.
